On the 12th July 2022, Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr. Sim Khui Hian reportedly said the federal government has not paid to Sarawak the 5% royalty on O&G. That was 3 months ago.

KUCHING: The federal government still owes Sarawak, among others, the five percent oil and gas royalty payment along with the 38 per cent tax collect.

Two days earlier, on the 10th July 2022 we first about the proposal to install a Sarawakian on the board of LHDN. The stated objective was so that Sarawak will know exactly how much income tax the LHDN derived from Sarawak. With the knowledge Sarawak will supposedly know how much tax refund from the federal government.

On the 2nd August 2022 we were given a hint about was happening to the story about Sarawak’s man on the board of LHDN and it still looks like nothing is going to happen at all.

PETALING JAYA: The finance ministry has yet to confirm whether it will be accepting Sarawak’s candidate to sit on the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) to ensure the state receives the right amount of its annual special grant.

In a brief written parliamentary reply, finance minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz said the ministry was still studying the legal aspects pertaining to the proposal to appoint representatives from Sabah and Sarawak to LHDN.

Make your own conclusion folks. With GE.15 fast approaching GPS is going full steam to convince Sarawak voters that they are winning the battle with the BN/UMNO driven federal government on the aspirations contained in the MA63 and the recovery of rights lost to the federal government. Ask yourself if this is the truth. Evidence suggests otherwise.
