Who can the Malaysian public trust if government agencies are also spreading disinformation, half truths and outright lies? What have the Malaysian society descended into? Is this the legacy that Barisan Nasional (BN) and its leaders are leaving to Malaysians - a culture of corrupt practices, abuse of power and position and spreading disinformation while its leaders tells everyone else to be ethical and honest in spreading information?

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 8): A review of campaign messages reported in the media and referenced in analyses of Malaysian elections since 1999 reveals the presence of five recurring patterns of disinformation often perpetrated by government agencies and political parties, according to a study by Asia Centre released today.
